The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) suggests the following ways in which you can support someone who may be contemplating suicide:

    * Take the initiative to ask what is troubling him/her.

    * If your friend/relative is depressed, DON’T be afraid to ask whether he/she is considering suicide.

    * Do NOT attempt to argue anyone out of suicide. Rather let the person know that you care and understand that they are not alone, that suicidal feelings are temporary, that depression can be treated and that problems can be solved. AVOID the temptation to say : ‘You have so much to live for’ or that ‘suicide will hurt your family’.

    * In a crisis, take the person to an emergency room/ walk-in-clinic – DO NOT leave the person alone until help is available. Remove drugs, razors, scissors or firearms that could be used in a suicidal attempt. You can also contact your local emergency numbers.

Support can not only make all the difference to a person who is thinking about taking his/ her own life but also to people with depression and anxiety.

The user must specify his/her weight, either in pounds or kilograms, and height in meters or feet & inches. The BMI result and analysis will be displayed based on the classification table from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Your Body Mass Index (BMI) can be calculated by dividing your weight in kilograms by your height in metres squared (kg/m2). A BMI of between 18.5 and 25 is generally considered to be healthy.

An overweight person will have a BMI of between 25+ and 30. An obese person will have a BMI that is over 30. A person who is overweight or obese has a higher chance of developing hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease.

A dietician can develop a tailor made plan for people who are overweight or obese and help you to eat healthily.

It is really up to us to choose whether to be stressed or not.A recent news feature chronicled the growing search for stress relief through spas, massage, pills, and exercise tapes. The craving to ease tension has spawned an entire industry, including walk-in backrub stores in shopping malls across the country. The report ended by saying, ‘Although people will pay to fix their stress, they are not about to change the lifestyle that is causing it.

Do you feel like it is so easy to slouch while we sit? Do you know that slouching may seem comfy, but it tires you? Slouching tires your body. It makes you constantly use your muscles rather than your skeleton to hold you up. To revive, sit straight with your feet flat on the floor.

To instantly restore your pep, imagine a string pulling you up from the top of your head and aligning your vertebrae. Relax your shoulders, chest and abdomen, and slightly tilt your pelvis forward. Hold yourself this way as often as you can while sitting, driving, and walking. Within about a month this posture should become automatic. Also become more aware of how your body feels throughout the day.

For instance, if your back and neck feel tired, notice where you put your feet. Are they wrapped around the legs of your chair? For most people, placing their feet flat on the floor prevents neck and back fatigue. But try different positions until you find what feels best.

When you feel like you lack or lose energy exercise and socialize will do the magic. By moving your body and engaging your mind will energize you all over.
If your mind stagnates, your energy will too. “We need a certain amount of stimulation in our lives. Additionally, if you lack physical emotion your mood and energy will sink. Being sedentary weakens your muscles and blood flow to your brain and muscles, draining you physically and mentally.
Add healthy stimulation to your life. For example, ask your supervisor for more responsibility, which make you become more excited about your job. Socialize after hours with co-workers or friends; lively conversation will animate you.

Exercise increases circulation to your brain and your muscles, helping you to think more clearly and feel energized all over. Expert recommend 20 to 30 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise (like walking or riding bicycle) on most days, but you’ll receive energy benefits if you move for 5 to 10 minutes. From there, you can increase your workout as you’re able.

I think one of the worst things to have or experience is insomia. Insomnia is a condition in which you have trouble falling or staying asleep that makes one not being refreshed when waking up. There are certain ways to battle insomia. You should make your bedroom to a great inviting place to rest and sleep. Taking a nap is not advisable because it would make you sleep harder. Consumption of caffeine should be limited because it is a stimulant. Eat less chocolates, coffee, cocoa and colas. You also need to eat light dinner. Hopefully everyone will have a good night sleep and wake up recharged and refreshed.

Mango is my favorite fruit. It is sweet and I really like it. It is one of the four major fruit crops grown in the Philippines. It is considered as the national fruit of the country due to its several uses and rising importance and high potential both in the local and world market. Mangoes are eaten as raw, cooked, frozen, preserved or dried. Ripe mangoes are used for confectioneries, ice cream, sherbet, and bakery products while unripe mangoes (usually the Indian variety) are a good source of juice. Yummy.
