The Royal wedding

All were so very excited for the live coverage of the Royal wedding to be broadcasted today in our local television channel. A historical event like Princess Diana’s wedding way back in 1981. I am really excited to see Kate’s wedding gown how it looks like. Is it simple and traditional? or what kind of style is it? I am so excited to the bouquet as well. I’m sure it will fit to her perfect beauty. Well, right now many people are infront in their televisions waiting to witness how the Royal wedding will go, for sure this could be an inspiration to everyone especially to those who are planning to get married. They may not imitate but they can get some ideas and wedding tips. Congratulations William and Kate!

Musikahan sa Tagum

Our city celebrated the Musikahan sa Tagum Festival ( Tagum City Music Festival ), a yearly celebration and considered as the music capital of the region. We witnessed young and adult talented performers performed their talents on stage, and a lot of foreigners came just to join this big event, mostly from Asian countries. It encourages the viewer to be more music lover especially the young ones so they will not be engaged in drugs or other vices.

Successful automated election

I am so glad that I was able to experience to vote with the new automated way of election. It was great. The result were very fast. But the other side of the coin, it took us about 4 hours in line just to vote. My mom and I were able to vote. I let my mom sit somewhere while I was the one who fall in line. I cannot tell how my legs hurt. But in general it was a succesful first time automated election in the Philippines. I am sure there will be some changes next election to make it more easy for the voters to vote.

Many are surprised to learn that men are vulnerable to breast cancer, just like women, and so the idea of male breast cancer (MBC) symptoms may seem like a foreign one. While women certainly develop the disease at higher rates than men, about 1900 men develop male breast cancer in the United States each year. It is rare for men to develop this disease, but awareness is still important. Learning the signs and symptoms of male breast cancer is helpful for earlier detection and treatment.

Male breast cancer is rare. It happens most often to men between the ages of 60 and 70. Risk factors for male breast cancer include exposure to radiation, a family history of breast cancer and having high oestrogen levels, which can occur with diseases like cirrhosis or Klinefelter’s syndrome.

Symptoms of male breast cancer include lumps, changes to the nipple or breast skin, or discharge of fluid from the nipple.

Treatment for male breast cancer is usually a mastectomy, which is surgery to remove the breast. Other treatments include radiation, chemotherapy and/or hormone therapy.

help prevent jet lag

I love flying but what I don’t like about it is the jet lag. It is good to know that we can do something to prevent it. There was a flight that I did not really the jet lag. I took stresstabs multivitamins just before and after the flight.

Here are some tips to help prevent jet lag:

* Maintain a sensible bedtime schedule before your trip.

* Don’t avoid sleeping in order to make yourself tired.

* Consider going to bed earlier for a couple of nights before leaving if you are traveling east.

* Go to bed later for a couple of nights if you are travelling west.

* For short trips, maintain a schedule of eating and sleeping at your usual times, if possible, while at your destination.

* For longer trips, try to adapt to the time schedule to which you’re travelling before you leave.

* Set your watch to the new time as you begin the trip.

* While in flight, avoid sleeping at times that wouldn’t be appropriate for sleep at your destination.

* Make the most of any stopovers by making yourself comfortable and getting rest.

* Drink plenty of liquids, but avoid alcohol and caffeine.

* If you exercise regularly, continue to do so at your destination. Avoid exercising late in the evening, because it can keep you awake.

* For important events or meetings at your destination, try to arrive ahead of time to allow for the time difference.

The November 2009 Nursing (NLE) Board Exam Results is already out and posted by the Philippine Regulation Commission.

November 2009 Nursing (NLE) Board Exam Results or Nursing Licensure Examinations is now out and available online.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 37, 527 out of 94,462 nursing examinees passed the November 2009 Nursing Board Exams.

The examination was given by the Board of Nursing in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, La Union, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Sulu, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last November 2009.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination in Manila as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on Monday and Tuesday, March 8 and 9, 2010, with morning (8:00 A.M.) and afternoon (1:00 P.M.) sessions at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City. All must come in their white gala uniform, nurse’s cap, white duty shoes, without earrings, hair not touching the collar and without corsage.

Oathtaking tickets for the National Capital Region (NCR) and nearby regions will be available at the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) at 1663 F.T. Benitez Street, Malate, Manila, starting Monday, February 8, 2010 on a “first come first serve” basis.
